Join the Eastern Sierra Water Watchers This group of passionate volunteers has been monitoring the
water of a few creeks here in the Eastern Sierra. They have become citizen
scientists and are getting out on the ground with open eyes to join the effort
to keep the land and water healthy for wildlife, ourselves, and future generations. After attending the training, volunteers will be prepared to complete a
habitat assessment during a streamwalk and conduct sampling of water for the
basic parameters- such as dissolved oxygen, total suspended sediment,
temperature, pH, and fecal bacteria. A commitment to join the Water Watchers,
requires a commitment of about one day every couple months. Contact Laura at 760-873-6500 or laura@friendsoftheinyo.org for more info. |
